Festival of Commedia dell’arte in Brno, Czech Republic

The Janáček Academy of Performing Arts, in cooperation with the Erasmus+ program, the Diocesan Museum, and the city of Brno, is organizing an international festival dedicated to the famous theatrical tradition of commedia dell’arte.
Over the following five days, the festival will offer masterclasses with Italian master Carlo Boso and other foreign teachers, street parades and performances in the streets of Brno, as well as evening performances in the Gardens under Petrov. Students from eight theater schools from seven European countries will take part in the program, bringing the energy and joy of commedia dell’arte to the city together with teachers and professional artists.
The festival is a celebration of collective theater creation and an opportunity to experience Brno to the rhythm of masks, improvisation, and music.
