Radio and TV Dramaturgy and Scriptwriting

The Bachelor’s degree is open to applicants who have a talent for writing and dramatic production, a very good overview of culture and contemporary media, the ability to think analytically and a personal motivation for artistic work.

Maximum number of applicants accepted: 8

Applications must be submitted by 30 November 2025.

The first round will take place without the personal participation of the candidates.
The second round will take place during March and April 2026.

These dates are indicative, the faculty has the right to change the time frame in which the admission procedure will take place. The exact date of the admissions examination can be found in the invitation to the admissions procedure.

  • Annex 1 – REQUIRED – copy of the graduation certificate or catalogue list of grades (if you have not yet graduated, you will send a copy of the graduation certificate later, after the graduation) – this is not a simple confirmation of studies.
  • Annex 2 – REQUIRED – structured CV in Czech language.
  • Annex 3 – REQUIRED – by 9 January 2026 you will upload: 3 prose texts of your own in a minimum length of 1.5 -3 standard pages each, an analysis of a feature film in a length of 1-3 standard pages, brief and concise reflections of 2 audiovisual works (e.g. 2 audiovisual works (e.g. a feature film or series, documentary) and 2 radio works (e.g. a radio play or a dramatic podcast, documentary), describing the nature of the work, its strengths or weaknesses (indicative length of each reflection 700 – 1000 characters).
  • Annex 4 – REQUIRED – medical certificate of fitness to study at university (download the form here). Medical certificate is required due to the mental and physical demands of studying.
  • Annex 5 – OPTIONAL – copy of diploma (in case of already obtained academic degree).

It is not possible to submit the application without uploading the required attachments!

  • strong talent requirements for their chosen field,
  • a full secondary education or a full vocational secondary education with a secondary school leaving certificate,
  • intellectual aptitude (ability to make independent judgements, good level of general knowledge, strong interest in the chosen field of study),
  • good health and physical disposition.

The admissions committee evaluates the submitted materials in terms of orientation in the field of television, film and radio production, analytical skills and creative aptitude. The first round takes place without the personal participation of the applicants. On the basis of the evaluation of the work submitted, the committee will decide on the progression to the second round of the admission procedure.

Round two checks:

  • compelling cultural insight;
  • the ability to work directly on a given topic (fiction, essay).
  • Interview (motivation to study, ability to formulate opinions promptly, accurately and sophisticatedly,
    reflection on own work, knowledge demonstrating a deep interest in radio, television and film
    production and related disciplines).

All sub-parts of the individual rounds of the entrance examination are evaluated by a points system. Each round of the entrance exam is scored separately (the scores for the individual rounds are not added together), and you must score at least 60 points out of a total of 100 points to advance to the second round.

In the second round, the threshold for admission is again set at 60 points. Based on the points obtained, the ranking of applicants is determined and the number of students admitted is as high as the number of students for the specialisation is set for capacity reasons.

Number of applicants accepted for AR 2026/27: 8

After the 1st round of the entrance examination, applicants:
a) who advance to the 2nd round – notification of advancement to the 2nd round with information about the date and specific work assignments will be made public through the E-application application;
b) who do not advance to the 2nd round – decision on non-admission to study (through the E-application application, or by registered mail to the address of permanent residence).

After the 2nd round of the entrance examination, applicants receive:
a) the decision of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts on admission to study in the E-application application, or by registered mail to the address of the permanent residence in case the entrance examination for the given field of study is completed by this second round.
b) the decision of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts on non-admission to study in the E-application application, or by registered mail to the address of the permanent residence in case the entrance examination for the given field of study is completed by this second round.
