Theatre and Education for the Deaf

The Master’s degree develops creative and pedagogical competences with an emphasis on independent creation, artistic interpretation and research. This includes the development of creative potential for independent artistic and artistic-pedagogical research projects, working with stage sign language and artistic interpreting in CSL.

Graduates will find employment in education and culture, where demonstration and personal experience are key to deaf education. They are able to choose and co-create the methodology of the field, professionally present professional positions in English and in CSL, are carriers of Deaf culture and act as identifying role models.

Emphasis is placed on creative outputs using methods of movement theatre, stage sign language and artistic interpretation into Czech sign language, both in individual and group productions.

To deepen the theatre component of the discipline as an educational tool and to develop the area of artistic interpretation of theatre and music into the CZJ.
