Theatre and Education

The master’s degree deepens the knowledge and skills acquired in the bachelor’s degree and focuses on independent directing, dramatic and pedagogical work.
Students learn to formulate and solve complex theoretical and practical issues in the field, create methodological materials and design curriculum documents for specific institutions or groups. The study also includes working with amateur ensembles and implementing original theatre projects on a larger scale.

Graduates are independent creative personalities ready to work in the field of drama education and theatre pedagogy. They can work as teachers of drama education in primary, secondary and university schools, as theatre lecturers in professional theatres or as leisure educators. They can also find employment in the field of teacher training and in institutions focused on cultural and artistic education.

The basis of the study is independent artistic and pedagogical work. Students create their own original projects, analyze their own work and the work of others, and develop a personal pedagogical style. Reflection on process, supervision and the ability to transfer theatre experience into educational practice are important components.

The aim of the MA is to train creative teachers and theatre makers who can combine the artistic, pedagogical and social aspects of theatre.
The programme prepares students to lead creative groups, develop methodological materials and conduct research in the field of drama and theatre education.
