What you will learn
The Master’s degree in scenography builds on the Bachelor’s degree, develops the experience and skills acquired in previous studies, deepens critical and conceptual thinking and leads students to independent authorial work and to application in artistic practice. The study emphasizes the conscious mapping of the contemporary theatrical and non-theatrical scene, the search for borderline artistic expressions and the development of teamwork.
Goal of study
The aim of the study is to cultivate the creative potential of students and to form unique artistic personalities who perceive scenography and costume as a means of communication in space, time and situation. Graduates are versatile visual artists and makers who can shape contemporary culture with the courage to experiment and lead creative dialogue in artistic teams across genres – from theatre and film to site-specific projects and curating.
Applying
Graduates of the Studio of Scenography of the Faculty of Arts of the JAMU are profiled as versatile creative personalities with a high degree of adaptability to the contemporary artistic environment. They are able to craft and conceptually shape the visual form of a wide range of projects – from drama and opera theatre to film and documentary work to performances and site-specific installations. They have the ability to integrate principles of environmental ethics and sustainability into the creative process. In addition to their original work, they also find employment in curating, exhibiting and independent cultural production.
